A site-specific installation in a glass extension, in which the movement and sound of a piece of scrap metal are central. Inside the enclosed glass space, the character of the material becomes both visible and audible. A heavy strike of a metal rod against a large metal surface creates a deep echo that, in a single moment, brings together the physical experience of a scrapyard, metalworking, and the inner logic of the material itself.

The glass space strengthens the hardness and force of the material, while also offering a view through to the immense building that plays a role in the background of the work’s experience. Three stacks of bricks are placed under the balance points of the metal piece, holding it up and keeping it steady. In this way, the collaboration between two construction materials becomes visible. Just like in large-scale architecture, where stone and steel work together to carry a structure, this relationship is made visible here on a smaller scale.
